Lunar Prairie is the collaboration between Salem, Oregon-based sitar player JJ Gregg and instrumental guitarist David Van Auken. Our music is a unique blend of American finger-style guitar and South Asian classical music. From ragas to heady tunes and meditative lullabies, our music draws from each of our respective backgrounds.

Drawing from the Fahey school of fingerpicking, David Van Auken’s unadorned guitar arrangements create an apt canvas for J.J. Gregg’s beautifully fluid sitar melodies, evoking a certain joy that permeates the duo’s stellar debut album, Lunar Prairie.
